The next things I sketched out for you are how I want the text. I want the text to be on the left page. I will have different text throughout in three formats. I did interviews with the people after I took their pictures. I got a lot of facinating quotes so I wanted to do something fun and have an all white background with black text at an angle. I was also thinking maybe I could have a thin border on top and bottom of page and it be a part of picture, like of the sidewalk or something relating to where they stay.
Here's the other text format I was thinking. My goal is to make people connect more with these people and see them as humans and not some people they want to keep there kids a good distance from. I asked them a bunch of different questions and thought it might be fun to have a bio page for the first time I show each homeless person. I would like to narrow it down to a handfull of homeless rather than a bunch of them so people can get more aquainted with them. I want to make it a little more intimate. I was at first thinking I would do just text but then I was thinking maybe on the upper right corner have a portrait type picture of them. I got a few shots of them smiling at the camera so I thought maybe those types of pics. Or just a smaller version of the pic I have on the right side.
This is the last text format I was thinking about. My other goal is to squash some stereotypes so I was thinking about a way I could do it with text and image. I want to have the image on the right relate to the fact. But for the left page I'm thinking of naming them something like "Sad but True" and then below stating a common myth and then putting a fact that counter argues it below that.
I'm not too sure if I want to seperate these pictures into chapters now. I'm kind of think I want it to be a consistent theme but end it with some quotes from volunteers and pictures of those helping. The last page I want to end it with a really awesome intimate picture of one of the homeless people the reader has gotten to know. And have the page to left be a quote. One that I think sounds concluding and revolving around what they would like to see happen in the future.
For an intro I am thinking of writing a small paragraph explaining what my mission is and what the pictures they are about to see are about. That way people can know my cause before looking through it.
P.s we don't have school Monday because it's Easter Monday, what are we suppose to send you next week since we don't have class? Can I send you some more pictures cause I will be taking more next weekend.
